Building a Healthier Community
As a leader in the San Antonio community—a pastor, a non-profit director, an EAP professional, a school counselor, or a shelter manager—you are a beacon of hope. Every day, you provide the critical support, resources, and compassion that individuals and families rely on to navigate life's challenges.
You are often the first to see when someone is struggling with something beyond their control: a substance use disorder (SUD).
You offer guidance, a safe space, and a helping hand, but you know that serious addiction requires specialized, clinical care. The question is, where can you send them? You need a partner who will treat your community member with the same dignity and respect you do. You need a resource that is accessible, effective, and collaborative.
San Antonio Recovery Center (SARC) is that partner. Our mission is to heal individuals, restore families, and strengthen the community we all share.
Our Shared Mission: Treating the Whole Person
We are more than just a treatment center; we are a dedicated community partner. We understand the complex, real-world challenges your members face—from co-occurring mental health struggles and trauma to housing insecurity and employment barriers.
Compassion and Dignity First
We are a CARF-accredited facility, but our first commitment is to compassionate care. We treat every person who walks through our doors as an individual, with a unique story, worthy of respect and a chance at a new life.
Dual-Diagnosis Treatment
Addiction is often a symptom of a deeper issue. We don't just treat the substance use; we treat the whole person. Our clinical team specializes in dual diagnosis, simultaneously addressing the underlying trauma, depression, and anxiety that fuel the cycle of addiction.
A Full Continuum of Support
We meet people where they are. Whether they need the 24/7 safety of medical detox or a flexible outpatient program that allows them to work, we have a level of care that fits. Our continuum includes:
A Resource for Every Part of Our Community
For EAPs and HR Professionals
We are a confidential and effective resource to help employees get the care they need and return to the workforce healthy, present, and productive.
For Pastors and Faith Leaders
We are a trusted clinical partner for your congregation. We provide evidence-based care that heals the mind and body, allowing you to focus on healing the spirit.
For Non-Profits and Shelters
We are a pathway to stability. By addressing the root of addiction, we can help your clients break the cycle and become ready for the housing, employment, and life-skills resources you provide.
For Educational Institutions
When a student or staff member is struggling, we offer a safe, confidential, and age-appropriate path to recovery, allowing them to return to their academic and professional goals.
The Referral Process: A Simple, Warm Hand-Off
You don't have to navigate a complex system. We've made our referral process simple and accessible.
- One Call: Our admissions line is open 24/7. One call to (866) 957-7885 starts the process.
- We Handle the Logistics: Our team will handle the pre-assessment and all insurance verification. We are in-network with most major plans and will work tirelessly to find a solution.
- A Collaborative Plan: With your client's consent (a signed Release of Information), we can keep you informed. We will collaborate on discharge planning to ensure they are returning to a supportive environment—back to your EAP program, your aftercare, or your community.

Impacting the San Antonio Community Through Collaboration
A partnership with San Antonio Recovery Center (SARC) is an investment in the health, safety, and economic vitality of Bexar County. When professional sectors align to provide high-quality care, the entire community experiences a measurable positive shift:
Reduces Recidivism: Provides the judicial system with a reliable alternative to incarceration, breaking the "revolving door" cycle of drug-related offenses.
Strengthens the Local Workforce: Helps individuals return to employment, reducing workplace accidents, absenteeism, and lost productivity in San Antonio.
Decreases ER Overcrowding: Transitions patients from high-cost emergency room crisis management to sustainable, long-term clinical health settings.
Heals the Family Unit: Offers specialized family programs that repair fractured relationships and provide support for children affected by a loved one’s SUD.
Lowers Public Health Costs: Proactive treatment reduces the community-wide financial burden associated with untreated addiction and associated medical complications.
Combatting the Local Opioid Crisis: Directly addresses San Antonio's specific public health challenges through accessible, evidence-based detox and residential programs.
Fosters Community Resilience: Our active Alumni program creates a network of stable, sober citizens who often give back through local volunteerism and peer support.
Enhances Neighborhood Safety: Professional intervention leads to a reduction in local vagrancy and crime associated with untreated substance use disorders.
Frequently Asked Questions for Community Partners
What if the person I'm referring has no insurance or limited funds?
This is a common barrier, and we are committed to finding solutions. Please call our admissions team. We will explore every possible option, including scholarship beds (when available), sliding scale fees, or helping them navigate state and marketplace insurance options. Don't let cost be the reason you don't call.
What is the referral process like for an EAP or HR manager?
Our process is fast, confidential, and compliant. We can conduct an assessment, verify benefits, and often admit the employee on the same day. With a signed ROI, we can provide all necessary documentation for FMLA or short-term disability.
Can you work with my church's recovery ministry?
Absolutely. We view faith-based support as a powerful tool in long-term recovery. We are happy to collaborate with your ministry for discharge planning and to ensure the client has a "home base" of sober support when they complete our program.
How do you handle discharge planning and aftercare?
Treatment is just the beginning. Our case managers work with every client from day one to build a robust aftercare plan. This includes connections to our alumni program, local 12-step meetings, sober living arrangements, and—with their permission—a "warm hand-off" back to you, their community support system.
How long does the program last?
There is no one-size-fits-all answer. Our programs are tailored to the individual's clinical needs. This can range from a 5-7 day detox to a 30, 60, or 90-day residential stay, followed by weeks or months of step-down outpatient care.
